January 5, 2016 - DTI receives initial system orders from New Flyer for Philadelphia

DTI Group Ltd (ASX: DTI) ("DTI”) advises that it has received initial orders for up to 35 video surveillance systems for new transit buses being built by New Flyer for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA). SETPA oversees transit in the city of Philadelphia, PA and operates over 1,300 buses, 300 regional trains, 26 light rail vehicles and 112 light rail vehicles.

DTI's existing and comprehensive back-end CCTV management system in Philadelphia will centralise and coordinate the bus CCTV data and allow video evidence to be recovered from the buses through an on-line automated CCTV 'booking' system providing ongoing benefits through the easy management of equipment, video retrieval and video storage. Each bus will be equipped with DTI's latest Mobile Digital Recorder (MDR-5L) and nine high resolution colour cameras plus wireless infrastructure, accelerometer and GPS-based vehicle location system.

SEPTA is also seeking tenders for the procurement of up to 525 new transit buses over the next 5 years and DTI’s MDR5 system is specified in the procurement documentation. The procurement contract contemplated by the tender includes the provision of systems on 525 new buses over 5 years plus an option for a further 25. The award of the tender is expected to occur in early 2016.
