October 26, 2015 - DTI to Provide Video Surveillance Systems on Light Rail Vehicles for San Francisco

DTI Group Ltd (ASX: DTI) ("DTI”) is pleased to advise that it has received an initial order from Kratos Public Safety & Security Solutions for the supply of advanced video surveillance systems on 64 new light rail vehicles (LRV) which are which are being built for the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (MTA). The MTA contract with the rail car manufacturer has recently been increased to a total of 175 LRV for the Agency, including an option for an additional 85. This is one of the biggest orders ever placed in the United States for LRV.

DTI's existing depot-based comprehensive back-end CCTV management system will be used to wirelessly centralise and coordinate the LRV CCTV data and allow video evidence to be recovered from the vehicles through an on-line automated CCTV 'booking' system providing ongoing benefits through the easy management of equipment, video retrieval and video storage.

Under the proposed contract, each LRV will be equipped with:

  • an advanced 16 channel digital video surveillance system with removable 8TB hard disk drives and communications infrastructure for system management and data downloads
  • 12 internal and 4 external high-definition IP rail rated cameras
  • 4 rail rated 7” driver display monitors.

This order further builds on DTI's reputation in the United States for providing advanced transit surveillance solutions and services. The supply is expected to commence in February 2016 with the 64 systems being delivered over a three-year period. This order also builds on DTI’s recent success in the rail market including an order two weeks ago for 22 systems with passenger information for Northwest Rail in Sydney.
