February 24, 2015 - DTI Group to Provide Video Surveillance Systems for Yarra Trams in Melbourne

DTI Group Ltd (ASX:DTI) ("DTI") is pleased to announce an initial order for video surveillance systems by Yarra Trams to be installed on its C2 Citadis trams in Melbourne. The Yarra Trams network includes 487 trams, across 24 tram routes and a free City Circle tourist tram over 1,763 tram stops. With 250 kilometers (155.3 miles) of double track, Melbourne's tram network is the largest in the world and is owned by the Victorian Government.

Each tram will be equipped with DTI's latest MDR-5L (Mobile Digital Recorder) fitted with six internal high-definition transit-grade cameras and a forward-facing camera on each end. A DTI touch-screen Driver Display Unit presents the view of the internal door cameras in the tram and a single touch on any individual camera image expands that image to full screen size. A second touch reduces the image back to its original size.

The scope of works also includes DTI's GPS-based video data diagnostic system, wireless data communications infrastructure, and DTI's fleet management software suite. DTI's wireless infrastructure and comprehensive back-end CCTV management system will centralise and coordinate the tram CCTV data and allow video evidence to be recovered from trams through an on-line automated CCTV 'booking' system providing significant benefits through the easy management of equipment, video retrieval and video storage.

This project further builds on DTI's success across Australia where DTI has provided advanced transit surveillance solutions in all of Australia’s capital cities.

Arthur Constantinou, Business Development Manager for DTI in Australia, said: “We are pleased with the support of Yarra Trams and its progressive approach towards the DTI solution. We look forward to assisting Yarra Trams to achieve its safety and security initiatives plus exploring further opportunities with Yarra Trams.”
