July 31, 2014 - DTI Group Secures UK Bus Order with Alexander Dennis

DTI Group is pleased to announce the order and initial deliveries of video surveillance systems for 100 new double and single deck vehicles from Alexander Dennis Limited (ADL). ADL is the largest bus and coach manufacturer in the United Kingdom.

The systems are being installed at both ADL's Falkirk and Scarborough facilities in the United Kingdom and form part of the ongoing supply and support project with National Express Ltd (National Express). The first double deck vehicles are being used as part of the transport initiative for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow before joining the rest of the fleet in Birmingham.

The systems include DTI's proven hybrid DVR, the MDR-5L, together with both high-resolution analogue and IP cameras linked to passenger monitors within the vehicle. All vehicles will also be equipped with Wi-Fi, GPS and cellular capability allowing seamless integration into the existing DTI back office infrastructure for National Express enabling remote video and diagnostic data transfer.

This order builds on a number of safer travel initiatives recently undertaken with National Express and their partners and uses the very latest technology to support National Express, the police and the local community in promoting zero tolerance of anti-social behavior on National Express routes across the city of Birmingham.

Steve Donnohue, General Manager for DTI EMEA Ltd, said: “We are all very pleased with this award which expands our footprint in the UK bus sector. This deployment is notable as DTI deployed systems at two major UK sporting events, including over 300 rail systems provided for the London Olympics in 2012.”
