November 18, 2013 - DTI Group Signs Agreements with US-based Global Security Provider

DTI Group Limited (DTI) is pleased to announce the signing of four-year agreements, with additional five-year options, to provide advanced digital video recorders and software (mobile recording solutions) to a major global security provider based in the United States. The security provider has one of the largest market shares in US public transit and has had an association with DTI dating back to 2006. The terms of the agreement do not allow disclosure of the US security provider’s name.

DTI’s proven solution, the hybrid MDR5 mobile recorder family and software suite, was selected as it provides advanced features for customers. The solution includes DTI's GPS-based vehicle location system, wireless data communications infrastructure, mobile access to the on-board system via 3G and DTI's fleet management software suite. DTI's wireless infrastructure and comprehensive back-end CCTV management system centralises and coordinates the bus CCTV network.

The MDR5 is available in 8 and 16 camera versions and records at a maximum 30 pictures per second, per camera. The MDR5 can provide up to 4Tb of internal data storage, has integrated GPS for vehicle tracking and locating, and provides extensive peripheral inputs for measuring and recoding associated vehicle operating data including speed, braking, turn indicator use and g-force levels.

The systems and software are specifically customised to provide digital video and data for the United States public transportation market. DTI has sold over 12,000 mobile recorders into the US market as part of the association with this security provider.

Richard Gougeon, General Manager for the Americas, said: “We are excited to continue the relationship for a further four years and potentially more. The contract will cater for ongoing access to the US market and benefits both parties significantly”.
