September 14, 2009 - DTI Group signs sourced product agreement with US based global security provider

DTI Group Limited (DTI) is pleased to announce the signing of an agreement to provide advanced digital video recorders and software (Mobile Recording Solutions) to a major global security provider based in the USA. The security provider has one of the largest market shares in public transit in the US and an association with DTI dating back to 2006. The terms of the agreement do not allow disclosure from either company including the other party’s name.

DTI’s proven solution of their hybrid MDR5 mobile recorder and software suite was selected as it provides the next generation of advanced features for customers. The solution includes DTI's GPS based vehicle location system, wireless data communications infrastructure, mobile access to the on-board system via 3G and DTI's fleet management software suite. DTI's wireless infrastructure and comprehensive back-end CCTV management system centralises and coordinates the bus CCTV network.

The MDR5 will be available in 8 and 12 camera versions and record at a maximum 30 pictures per second, per camera. The unit provides 1Tb of internal data storage, has integrated GPS for vehicle tracking and locating and provides extensive peripheral inputs for measuring and recoding associated vehicle operating data including speed, braking, turn indicator use and g-force levels.

The systems and software are specifically customised to provide digital video and data for the United States Public Transportation market. Extensive field testing commenced nine months ago in cities such as New York, Washington DC, and Boston. Qualification testing for the US market is nearing completion and the first Purchase Orders for 400 units were received upon signing of the agreement.

Richard Gougeon, General Manager for the Americas’ states, “We are excited to enter into this agreement which caters for significant access to the US market and benefits to both parties. The necessary support and United States location demonstrate DTI’s vision and willingness to enter a new era as a world wide solutions partner.”
