February 13, 2013 - DTI Group Signs Multi-Million Dollar U.S. Contract with Kratos|HBE

DTI Group Limited (DTI) is pleased to announce the signing of a multi-million dollar contract with Kratos Public Safety & Security Solutions, Inc., (“Kratos|HBE”) for the supply, installation, integration and maintenance of advanced video surveillance systems into 357 existing buses, with an option of up to 613 additional bus and light rail vehicles.

Each vehicle will be equipped with DTI's latest dual-drive hybrid Mobile Digital Recorder (MDR-5M) and up to 14 high resolution color cameras, including at least 3 megapixel IP cameras. The system also includes the ability to remotely turn on the MDR in the depot while the bus is off, greatly enhancing the flexibility and capability to manage the system infrastructure and video. Microphones located in the vehicles are available to capture audio/voice communications.

Each bus will use two cameras for transit only lane enforcement (TOLE). These cameras are recorded to a specialised solid state drive, which can be reviewed to provide infringement evidence for vehicles illegally utilising transit only lanes. Through this TOLE infringement capability, it is envisaged there will be a reduction in transit delays through a reduction in the illegal use of bus lanes.

The scope of work also includes DTI's GPS-based vehicle location system and fleet management software suite, as well as DTI's comprehensive back-end CCTV management system to centralise and coordinate the vehicle CCTV network. Kratos will provide project management, contract management, integration, and IT infrastructure for the project.

The Kratos project further builds on DTI's success in providing advanced city-wide transit surveillance solutions and services in the US and throughout the world.

Ben Goodwin, President of Public Safety & Security Solutions at Kratos, said: “We are confident that the technology and experience DTI brings to this engagement will provide a robust solution for our customer and are delighted to have them as a partner of this important project.”

Richard Johnson, Managing Director of DTI, said: “We are pleased that we have been able to partner with Kratos|HBE for this significant US-based transit project. Kratos and DTI have been chosen by one of the largest transport operators in the US, and we are confident that we can provide a comprehensive solution to meet their needs.”
