October 6, 2011 - DTI Group to Provide Video Surveillance Systems for Two UK Rail Fleets

DTI Group is pleased to announce an order for the supply, installation and long-term support of 326 video surveillance systems from Eversholt Rail (UK) Limited (formerly HSBC Rail (UK) Limited), part of the Eversholt Rail Group (“Eversholt”). Eversholt is one of the UK’s leading rolling stock groups.

The contract award follows a full tender process and 12-month evaluation period of the DTI solution for a commuter fleet providing daily services into London. The system is expected to be fully operational ahead of the London 2012 Olympic Games. The two commuter fleets, Class 315 and Class 321, both operate in the East Anglia area of the UK. The contract includes a long-term service bureau agreement which provides system support for up to 14 years.

Each train will be equipped with DTI's latest rail DRU (Data Recording Unit), wireless data communications infrastructure, GPS-based vehicle location system which will connect into DTI's market leading fleet management software suite. The DTI wireless infrastructure and comprehensive ‘back-office’ CCTV management system will centralise and manage the CCTV network allowing the daily monitoring of the fleet including fully automated camera and system health checking together with scheduled downloads of video evidence through an on-line automated CCTV 'booking' system.

This project further extends DTI’s operating base in the region and builds on the success and growth in providing advanced transport surveillance solutions and services around the globe. To date DTI  has deployed in excess of 13,000 systems with an increasing number of transport operators and vehicle fleets choosing DTI to monitor and manage their systems on a daily basis through its market- leading fleet management software.

Steve Donnohue, General Manager for DTI EMEA Ltd, said: “This award is significant for many reasons and we are delighted that Eversholt has chosen the DTI solution to meet their safety and security aspirations for the fleet. We appreciate their professionalism and support over the last 12 months and look forward to working with Eversholt in the future”.
