August 9 2009 - DTI Group signs partnership agreement with Mobisat, UAE

DTI Group Limited (DTI) is pleased to announce the signing of a memorandum of understanding to work with UAE technology integrator Mobisat IT Solutions LLC (Mobisat). The agreement will facilitate the cooperation of the two companies for the supply and installation of advanced video surveillance systems into the United Arab Emirates.

DTI and Mobisat have agreed to market the DTI MR1, a unit specifically tailored to the taxi market as well as the MDR5 for the bus market. The solution also includes DTI's GPS based vehicle location system, wireless data communications infrastructure, mobile access to the on-board system via 3G and DTI's fleet management software suite. The agreement formalises the respective strengths of the two companies to pursue opportunities in the region. The first stage will involve pilot schemes and proposal development for a comprehensive solution to the unique needs of the region.

At present, over 10,000 taxi vehicles within the region are without security systems and a significant portion of these owned by a related body corporate of Mobisat. The purpose of the agreement will enable DTI and Mobisat to formulate proposals for the provision of security solutions in the region. The opportunity seeks to exploit DTI’s hardware and system solution to provide live viewing, booking and maintenance functionality at a centralised security control and maintenance centre in each city.

With the current success of the VDL / RTA Dubai project in the region through the supply of 523 systems, DTI and Mobisat are also seeking to exploit new opportunities in the bus market. Furthermore, the agreement will enable the companies to establish a mutually beneficial agreement for the provision of servicing throughout the region.
