June 14, 2019 - Rio Tinto AutoHaul Trains Establish WA as 'Global Leader' for Rail Technology (Press Article)

Mining major Rio Tinto has joined the Western Australia Government and technology partner Hitachi Rail STS to celebrate the successful rollout of its AutoHaul autonomous freight rail network.

The DTI scope for the project entailed the provision of remote video surveillance monitoring systems on locomotives which ensures the safe movement of the driverless trains. The DTI scope also entailed the supply of systems to enable remote monitoring of over 40 level crossings on the rail network. DTI is one of five key partners in the project.
